The Concussion Newsletter was beset by various problems some of which are detailed in the first of the “Behind the Scenes” blog entries. Things continued to show up to battle us, but we overcame them through sheer, er, stupidity and lots of help!
The Convention is nearly over, but we’ll keep these
pages online for a long time to come (and I hope to come back and update the
HTML with something a little better) so please keep sending in your memories,
photographs, programme item reviews etc. The committee in particular would love
to find out what was happening at the convention they organised!

And so Chris/The Magician, AlexMC, Jan, Wilf and Mike (with the essential help of Naveed, Graham/Mongoose and a massive team of news collectors, photographers and distributors) are pleased to bring you the Concussion newsletter.

There may be an Issue 10 for the Dead Dog Party … drop back to see if we managed it! Updated at 23:00, nope, we’re still sitting here in the ex-Green room area of the mezzanine and chatting about synchrotrons, numbers, how to run programme, qualifications etc. and people are drinking … what a surprise! I’ve got a list of those people that Farah thanked at the closing ceremony and (unless I lose it) I’ll type it in in the next few days.
We also intend to post up longer articles, articles that didn't make the paper version (for whatever reason), photographs etc. such as this picture of the Artist Guest of Honour, Brian Froud, and friend (photo by Feorag)

If you have something for the newsletter, please email it to ConNewsletter@gmail.com
We're looking for programme item reviews, gossip, fun photos, restaurant reviews, party reviews and anything else that other people might find interesting. Feel free to send your convention reviews to the same address, as the newsletter will be kept online after Concussion ends.
Convoy 07 in Liverpool and Orbital 2008 in London both won their respective votes by a vast majority to an almost echoing silence (no more than three or four hands raised for abstention or no award). Their guest lists are on their websites and in issue 5 of the newsletter.
Apologies: These pages are currently being maintained in (oh the shame) Microsoft Word and so the HTML is likely to be fairly naff … the dead PC (see the Behind the Scenes Blog) had the web editing software on it and (with the great assistance of a number of people) it is working again, but has been used pretty much non-stop since to layout newsletter so the better webpages will have to wait.
